...nationally
recognized for their superb clinical expertise
Our physicians are a highly dedicated and
experienced team with each having completed additional fellowship training
in their specialty. Not all physicians become board certified or obtain
advanced training to practice medicine. The commitment of our physicians
is evident with having these credentials that reflect the development
of advanced skills, knowledge and clinical expertise in the treatment
and conditions of the spine.
Southeastern Spine Center's team of physicians
is devoted to provide the most advanced and sophisticated treatments available
for spinal conditions. They specialize in personalized, patient-focused
care while developing the plan of treatment, whether it includes conservative
medical treatment options or surgical intervention. While our physicians
specialize in the minimally-invasive procedures, they also perform traditional
open spine surgeries.
Striving to stay on the "cutting edge"
with technological techniques and new procedures is an expectation of
each of the physicians at Southeastern Spine Center. Our goal is to provide
our patients with the best treatments available to achieve the desired
outcome. As part of that commitment, our physicians participate in research
and development of surgical instrumentation, serve as training instructors
for other surgeons on surgical techniques, and participate in clinical
research.

Clinical
Research Projects
Southeastern Spine Center,
in an effort to provide excellence in care, objectively
evaluates outcomes of its non-operative and operative care
for people with spinal disorders. As part of this, we publish
information regarding various techniques used and their
outcomes. Some topics currently under investigation include:
(1) A comparison of minimally invasive endoscopic interbody
fusion with open interbody fusion. This is a multi-centered
study being conducted around the United States with several
universities and with individuals in the armed forces. (2)
A retrospective evaluation of open versus endoscopic lumbar
decompression, fusion and instrumentation. This study has
demonstrated the obvious benefits of performing minimally
invasive endoscopic procedures. (3) A study in comparing
upright MRI with flexion and extension to supine MRI for
differentiating clinical findings in conjunction with an
MRI Center.
Surgical
Implants Development
Southeastern Spine Center has
participated in the development of new surgical implants,
which have made substantial improvements over previously
used technologies. These include metallic implants for treatment
of both cervical and lumbar spinal disorders. |
